The Springless Wastegate is based on the ultra-successful DW1 wastegate and has been on race-winning cars in RallyX and Rallying, as well as on some Pikes Peak single-seaters.
Very similar to the DW1 wastegate in construction, the main difference is that there is no spring – the valve position is controlled by boost.
The main advantage is a significantly lower height, as the cap does not have to house a spring.
Designed to cope with the extreme conditions experienced during racing, the springless wastegate was designed with high performance and exceptional quality parts, so as not to compromise reliability:
- Inconel casting
- Nimonic 80 forged valve
- Ti 6Al4V billet machined valve guide housing
- Sintered valve guide
- Internal Inconel heat shield to protect valve guide and membrane
- Top-hat style Nomex-reinforced fluoropolymer rolling membrane
- #3 JIC Boost connector and 1 breather fitting
- Can be supplied with a screened fitting as well, if required – this is an option
- V-band clamp mounting system, supplied with 304 stainless weld-on adaptors
